Eye Colour

All puppies are born with blue eyes and they stay blue for quite a while, they start changing around 4 weeks but browns eyes will look like dark blue eyes at this time.  Pomskies can have blue eyes, green eyes, hazel eyes or brown eyes they can also have bi eyes (one brown and one blue) or parti eyes (an eye with a different color chip for example a brown eye with a blue section in it). Part of the reason we wait till 4 weeks to take deposits is so we can give you an idea of eye color.

How big are Pomskies

Pomskies are not as small as some people think. They can range in size from the size of a Pomeranian to the size of a husky. This is a new crossbreed so there is no standard. I believe my puppies will be between 15-35 pounds but will have a better idea after my first litter is born. As Pomskies are better established the size variance will become smaller. In a couple of years we will have F2 Pomskies (second generation) and they will be smaller and have less throwback puppies. I ask that my new Pomsky parents keep me updated on puppies. I will track their size and marking changes so I can better predict the size and look of my puppies.

This picture gives you an idea of size Icy (black & white) is a full grown Husky and Chinook  (grey & white) is about the size of a Pomsky.

Do Pomskies shed?

Yes. Pomskies shed just like just like Pomeranians and Huskies do.  Twice a year they lose their undercoat; this is called blowing their coat. If you brush your Pomsky a couple times a week and more often while blowing their coat you can contain the worst of it. If you are worried about excessive shedding you can take them to a groomer and have a bath and blow dry which will sped up the shedding process. Pomskies  (like any double coated breed) should never be shaved, their coat protects them form the cold and the heat.

Pomsky Temperament

It is nice to have an adorable puppy but temperament is what makes the dog. I have chosen to breed Pomskies for their amazing temperament. We do this by choosing breeding stock with the ideal temperament and we make sure our dogs (and puppies) are well socialized. We do everything we can to make sure you go home with a well-adjusted, happy (not to mention cute) puppy. We are happy to help you make sure your puppy stays this way by providing on-going support and training tips for your puppy.

Twin Dogs

Dog Camp

My Dog Camp is a great opportunity for your pet to learn some basic social skills and tricks. I’ll take your pet to a nearby park for exercise, obedience training, and lots of fun and games. You’ll be able to tell after a Dog Camp, because you’ll come home to a more mellow and happy animal.

Pomsky Training

From all accounts I have found Pomskies are fairly easy to train, this is part of the appeal of the crossbreed. Huskies can be hard to train and some have very poor recall this is not the case with Pomskies in general. Pomeranians love to please their owners and enjoy learning new things and this is a trait I look for in the Pomskies. With that being said Pomskies are very smart and will quickly learn bad habits if you are not careful, conscious and consistent in your training.
